There are days when I can’t write a damn thing and there are days like today where my mind is rambling with emotions, words, songs—if I hold it back it comes across as a very loud, internal silence. Today is just one of those days—a day that brings up a swell of nostalgia—really missing my childhood, thinking about things I could’ve done differently, better, when I was younger. Yet, at the same time when I do reflect, I feel that I had a great childhood because all I can think about are things like roller skates, my banana seat bike, the smell of balmy evenings, running around until my hair was plastered with sweat. These are all things that mean so much to me but all tucked away in a void called the past—that deep somewhere that I can no longer experience but is only alive as a memory.
